The P-36 was the predecessor of the P-40. It had very good performance for the mid 1930s, but was considered obsolescent by the time the war started. Nevertheless, it gave a good account of itself during the Battle of France the few squadrons flying it being responsible for most of the Luftwaffe losses. The aircraft depicted in the U.S. markings shot down two Val dive bombers during the Pearl Harbor attack.
Two pre-printed, Esaki tissue skins, Pearl Harbor and Battle of France, are available. The laser cut parts in this kit are laminated balsa.
